Jenna Waterbury
Licensed clinical Social Worker
My name is Jenna Waterbury and I am originally from Adrian, Michigan. In 2014, our family relocated to Naples, FL and shortly after I opened New Beginnings Counseling, LLC. I am licensed to practice therapy (including telehealth) in the States of Florida, Michigan, and Utah. I have my Master’s in Social Work from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. I’ve been helping people professionally for over seventeen years.
We all encounter challenges in life where help from an unbiased party may be beneficial. That’s where a therapist like myself or another may be of support! Studies have shown that the quality of the client–therapist relationship is a predictor of how much progress a client makes in therapy. Because of this, it is so important to me that I develop strong and therapeutic connections with my clients.
This connection allows for mutual trust and respect to develop between my client and myself so that I can challenge and encourage them to recognize their strengths, their challenges, and to address their concerns and fears which will ultimately lead them to making life changing progress.
I have worked with complex family dynamics including high-conflict divorce, difficult co-parenting situations, and stepfamilies. I have extensive experience treating adults with anxiety, depression, codependency, relationship issues, and life transitions. My area of expertise is treating adults with trauma, specifically PTSD and CPTSD. I often have clients who do not initially recognize their own trauma history. As we begin to connect their present symptoms with recent or past trauma, they begin to see how their trauma affects them mentally and physically.
My belief is, “If we know where we came from, we will understand why we presently have the behaviors that we do so in turn we can make healthy changes and learn new ways to cope.” I incorporate methods into my sessions with clients such as psycho-dynamic therapy, EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, etc.
I am excited to be a part of your New Beginning!
Lisa Longo
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
My name is Lisa Longo! I graduated from Seton Hall University in New Jersey, where I obtained both my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Master of Education in Counseling. I have worked in the field of Mental Health and Human Services for over twenty years. During this time, I’ve had the opportunity to interact with individuals in various places along life’s journey. I have had the privilege of working with culturally, economically and ethnically diverse individuals. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida.
Thus far in both my personal and professional life, I have witnessed or experienced situations that “take us by surprise.” These are the circumstances that happen suddenly with little to no notice but become life defining. Perhaps the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, depression or anxiety creeps in and begins affecting day to day life, we experience a traumatic event, etc. When “life happens,” we can find ourselves having emotional responses we are not sure how to handle. I have learned that during those times, it’s often helpful to have support to be the best version of ourselves. Friends and family members may be helpful but at particularly challenging times – you may need a professional.
I specialize in working with adults affected by trauma or those who are struggling with anxiety and mood disorders such as Bipolar and Depression. As a practical, interactive, solution focused counselor, my approach is to provide support with insight and feedback to assist you with your current concerns while also addressing persistent issues of the past. We will work together, building upon your strengths and achieving your goals. My overall desire is to provide you with an emotional and physical space where you will feel seen and heard. It is a privilege to walk alongside each person I see as they open up their lives, practice vulnerability, do the hard work of evaluating where change is needed, and begin learning and practicing new ways of interacting with themselves and others in their lives. Therapy is beautiful and difficult. It can be emotionally demanding but is life transforming. I can’t wait to be part of your healing!Â
